Most screens in WISdom include drop-down filters at the top of the page. The filters available on each screen are tailored to the data shown on that screen.
Using Filters
Click Filters to open the filter panel. A search bar at the top of the panel narrows the visible filter groups as you type. The search matches any part of a name, not just the beginning, and is not case-sensitive.
Filter groups are displayed as accordion rows. The total number of available items in each group is shown in parentheses next to the group name. Click a group name to expand it and view its available options. A pink badge on the group row shows the number of selections currently active within that group. The same badge appears on the Filters button when any filters are active.
Each item in a filter group has three states:
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| No mark | Not selected; not affecting the current view |
| Checkmark | Included; only checked items are shown |
| Minus sign | Excluded; matching items are hidden from the view. Excluded items are displayed with a red strikethrough wherever the filter is shown. |
Click once to include an item (checkmark). Click again to exclude it (minus sign). Click a third time to clear the selection.
Filter Logic
The combination of checkmarks and minus signs determines what is displayed:
| Selections | Result |
|---|---|
| Checkmarks only | Only the checked items are displayed; all others are hidden |
| Minus signs only | All items are displayed except those marked with a minus sign |
| Checkmarks and minus signs | Only the checked items are displayed; items marked with a minus sign and unmarked items are excluded |
When you have finished configuring filters, click Apply to update the view. Click Cancel to dismiss the panel without applying changes. Active filters are displayed as chips below the filter bar. Click the X on any chip to remove that filter individually. Multiple filter groups can be active at the same time. With no filters selected, all available data is displayed.
Filter Persistence
Active filters persist across most screens in WISdom, including across modules such as Dashboards, Performance, Health, and Infrastructure, as long as the filter applies to the destination screen. Filters do not persist to the Health › Performance Metrics page.
When navigating from an Overview to a Details screen, selecting an instance, host, or database in the filter is required to display detailed data.
Inline Filter Controls
Charts
Hovering over a series in the chart legend highlights that series on the chart without affecting any other series or the active filter. Clicking a legend item removes that series from the chart display and grays out its legend entry. Clicking it again restores the series to the chart. This is a visual-only change and does not modify the active filter.
Tables
Clicking an instance or database name in a table displays three options:
| Icon | Result |
|---|---|
| Magnifying glass with a + | Adds the item to the active filter as an inclusion |
| Magnifying glass with a - | Adds the item to the active filter as an exclusion |
| Copy | Copies the name to your clipboard |
The blue Reset button clears all active filters on the current screen.
Some table fields support additional actions. Hovering over a field that supports actions displays a down arrow, indicating that clicking the field will reveal options such as copying the value or adding it to the active filter.
