Overview of WISdom Alerting

The Monitoring section of the Admin Console is designed to facilitate the creation and management of alerts generated by WISdom. This module consists of five key components:

  • Notification Channels: This component allows you to create notification channels for email and text (SMS) messages, as well as channels for ticketing systems, which can be configured through the Integrations module.

  • Alert Types: This section provides a comprehensive list of all available alerts in WISdom. Users can edit existing alerts and add exceptions through Alert Rules to tailor the alerting system to their needs.

  • Alert Rules: Alert Rules serve as exceptions to standard alerts. This screen allows you to configure these rules, which can then be assigned to specific alerts via the editing function in the Alert Types section.

  • Profiles: The Profiles screen enables users to create alert configurations based on the resources available in WISdom. This is where you can define how alerts are triggered and managed according to the settings established in the previous components.

  • Silencing Windows: This feature allows users to set specific time windows during which alerts will be ignored, making it ideal for scheduled maintenance periods for servers.

Each of these components is organized into individual articles for easy navigation and understanding, providing detailed information and definitions to help you build a proactive alerting system. For a step-by-step guide on setting up a new profile, please refer to the Creating a New Profile page of the Profiles section.
