Details

These cards display blocking details and provide throughput metrics for a single Instance. View the details for a previously selected Instance, or when prompted, select a specific Instance from the Instance drop-down list. The selected Instance name will be displayed.

  • Use the drop-down menus to further filter the list by Environment, Instance, Database, Blocker ID, Weekday, and Time of Day.

Blocking Details

This cards displays the result counts and their aggregate values or subsets at the time of collection for a single Instance in a table format with sortable columns, as follows:

  • The Date Range column displays
  • The Blocker ID column displays
  • The Database column displays
  • The Lead Blocker column displays
  • The SQL Statement column displays
  • The Wait Type column displays
  • The Wait Resource column displays
  • The Total Victims column displays
  • The Blocker Wait Time (ms) column displays
    Note: Hover the cursor over the column headings to sort the list in ascending or descending order.
    This data on Blocking can be further examined by using the Group By drop-down menu, as follows:
    By Blocker ID:
    Displays a sortable list by Blocker ID, Total Victims, and Blocker Wait Time (ms).
  • Click the arrow [>] to the left of the row to see details for a specific database by Date, Database, Lead Blocker, Wait Time, Wait Resource, Total Victims, and Blocker Wait Time (ms).
    By Database:
    Displays a sortable list by Database, Total Victims, and Blocker Wait Time (ms).
  • Click the arrow [>] to the left of the row to see details for a specific database by Date, Blocker ID, Lead Blocker, Wait Time, Wait Resource, Total Victims, and Blocker Wait Time (ms).
    By Lead Blocker:
    Displays a sortable list by Lead Blocker, Total Victims, and Blocker Wait Time (ms).
  • Click the arrow [>] to the left of the row to see details for a specific status by Date, Blocker ID, Database, Wait Time, Wait Resource, Total Victims, and Blocker Wait Time (ms).
    By Wait Type:
    Displays a sortable list by Wait Type, Total Victims, and Blocker Wait Time (ms).
  • Click the arrow [>] to the left of the row to see details for a specific status by Date, Blocker ID, Database, Lead Blocker, Wait Resource, Total Victims, and Blocker Wait Time (ms).
    By Wait Resource:
    Displays a sortable list by Wait Resource, Total Victims, and Blocker Wait Time (ms).
  • Click the arrow [>] to the left of the row to see details for a specific status by Date, Blocker ID, Database, Lead Blocker, Wait Type, Total Victims, and Blocker Wait Time (ms).
    For all groupings:
  • Click on a row to display the Lead Blocker flyout for more detailed blocking data. See the Lead Blocker section for more information.
  • To display a pop-up of the SQL Statement that can be copied, click on the Lead Blocker field.

Lead Blocker

Lead Blockers for specific time intervals can also be examined by Details and SQL Statements can be viewed or copied, as follows:
By Details:
Properties
This card displays the Blocker ID, Database, Total Victims, Wait Type, Wait Resource, and Blocked Wait Time.
Lead Blocker Statement
Click the View Statement button to display a flyout with the complete SQL Statement that can be copied or click the Copy Statement button to copy the statement for export and further analysis.
Total Blocking Victims
This card displays a searchable list by Host, Database, Login Name, Program Name, Object, Wait Time, Blocked SQL Statement.

  • Hover the cursor over the column headings to sort the list in ascending or descending order.
  • To display a pop-up of the SQL Statement that can be copied, click on the Lead Blocker field.
  • To display and copy the full Host name, click on the Host field for that row.
  • To see the full Object Name, click the 3-DOT icon in the card header and select Full Screen.

By SQL Statement:
To display a flyout with the complete SQL Statement that can be copied, click the View Statement button, or click the Copy Statement button to copy the statement for export and further analysis.
